No matter the season, there are common germ hotspots in every home that can breed bacteria. Germs infiltrate homes in many different ways and therefore cleaning and sanitising these hotspots regularly will help to limit the chances of you or family members getting sick. High volume areas such as kitchens and bathrooms should be cleaned and disinfected often.
Hotspots include:
Kitchen: sinks, cupboards, taps, counter tops, fridges, bins, dish towels and microwave.
Bathroom: Taps, basins and toilets.
Bedroom: Cupboard doors, bedside tables and light switches.
Living area: TV remote, telephone, light switches, coffee tables and side tables.
While it is important to be diligent with sanitising germ hotspots at home, don’t forget those at the office. Door handles, telephones, water coolers, boardroom tables, kitchenettes and coffee tables should be treated with caution. Ensure you wash or sanitise hands after touching these items or using these areas.
